Body Balance
Body balance is a combination of specific chiropractice and posture restoration. Our heads weigh on average 10 pounds and rest on a 2 ounce bone, called the atlas bone. This junction is part of the upper cervical area of the spinal column. When in alignment the body can be in better balance, but also the brain and body can communicate better via the brainstem “the control center of the body”. Dr DeShields focuses his chiropractic care on the stabilization and balance of the upper cervical area. Is your head on straight? Posture is another key to health. Our daily lives are spent in a bent over., slouched position due to our technilogically driven lifestyles. Dr. Brian helps patients pay attention to their posture, and also gives simple exercises to help correct the postural imperfections. How is your posture?

Nutrition is an overlooked part of health in our society. We tend to think anything we put in our mouths is good for us, but that is far from the case. Our energy levels, immune function, digestion and detoxification are all effected by our food that we eat. Are you eating food that will help or hinder theses processes?
MOvement
The human body is made to move. Many of our bodily systems rely on movement to be healthy. Dr DeShields knows that movement is a key to health. Movement is relative to each person. It could be getting up and walking around your home more, it could be committing to going to the gym more days a week or it could be committing to intensifying your workouts.
